On September 7, 2024, Midwest City, Oklahoma, proudly commemorated the International Day of Peace with a remarkable event. The highlight of the occasion was the presence of Sister Shivani, a globally acclaimed spiritual teacher, gracing Oklahoma for the first time. Vice Mayor of Midwest City, Pat Byrne, also joined the celebration by reading the official Proclamation.

Sister Shivani was honored with the prestigious “Beacon of Peace” Award, and we received special commendations from Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt and House Representative Cyndi Munson. Leaders from various faith organizations participated in the ceremonial Lamp Lighting, underscoring the spirit of unity and harmony.

 
The event was further enriched by captivating performances, including a choir from Canterbury Voices and a peace dance by the Nritya Arpan Dance Academy, which delighted the audience and added a cultural touch to the celebration.

 

 Sister Gita from California delivered an insightful talk on the theme “It’s Time,” while Sister Bindu highlighted the various services provided by the Meditation Center in Oklahoma. 

 

Sister Shivani, in her heartfelt address, deeply touched the audience as she spoke on the central theme. She also introduced the upcoming Raja Yoga Meditation Course, inviting all to explore its transformative benefits.
